Student applying for transfer admission to the University of Notre Dame must have satisfied Stonehill academic program requirements for the initial course of study, and must also have met each of the following minimum qualification criteria:

  1. Cumulative grade-point average of at least 3.6 on a 4.0 scale.

    Applicants with grade-point averages between a 3.0 and 3.6 will be considered if they have a strong recommendation from the program coordinator as to why the student should be admitted with a grade-point average lower than 3.6. However, no student below the 3.6 should assume they will gain admission-admission will be dependent on spaces available at Notre Dame for the College of Engineering and the competition for admission positions among all transfer applicants to Notre Dame.
  2. Cumulative technical grade-point average of at least 3.6 on a 4.0 scale. The technical GPA will be calculated from math, physics, science, and engineering courses appearing on the student's transcript.

    Those with cumulative technical grade-point averages between a 3.0 and 3.6 will be considered if they have a strong recommendation from the program coordinator as to why the student should be admitted with a grade-point average lower than 3.6. However, no student below the 3.6 should assume they will gain admission-admission will be dependent on spaces available at Notre Dame for the College of Engineering and the competition for admission positions among all transfer applicants to Notre Dame.
  3. A grade of at least C in all courses; a B or better must be earned in courses that transfer to satisfy Notre Dame degree requirements (per Notre Dame Undergraduate Academic Code). For all courses where a student does not earn the minimum grade (C or B) at Stonehill's discretion, the student may retake that course in an attempt to:
    1. earn a C and remain eligible for this program; or
    2. earn a B and allow the course to transfer to the Notre Dame transcript.
    In this case, consistent with Notre Dame's Undergraduate Academic Code, both grades will be used to calculate the student's GPA (overall and technical required in paragraphs D. l and D.2).
  4. At least 62 semester credit-hours of work that can be transferred to satisfy Notre Dame engineering degree requirements;
  5. Recommendation for admission by their academic advisor or the program coordinator;
  6. Demonstrated commitment to the community values and standards of conduct of both Notre Dame and Stonehill as determined in Notre Dame's sole discretion, following its assessment of the information provided by Stonehill in the "College Official's Report," a copy of which is attached.

If a student meets all of the above criteria, including the grade-point averages of 3.6 to 4.0 as required in 1 and 2 above, the student will be admitted to Notre Dame's College of Engineering. If the student falls below the minimum guaranteed admission standard of a 3 .6 with respect to their cumulative grade-point average, as required in 1, or cumulative technical grade-point average, as required in 2, they will be eligible for admission but will compete for transfer admission with all other transfer applicants to Notre Dame.
