A partnership with SAS, a worldwide leader in analytics software, gives graduate students in Stonehill’s data analytics program a valuable suite of resources and a competitive advantage in the marketplace.

SAS has granted Stonehill the ability to award a Tier 3 SAS Academic Specialization as part of the College’s Data Analytics Master of Professional Studies Degree Program. It is the highest level of credential that SAS offers its academic partners.

Students who complete the master's degree program will receive both a master’s degree and this academic specialization, affirming their technical expertise in conducting advanced data analysis in various SAS products.

“Our students consistently tell us that having SAS skills on their resume or mentioning their work with SAS in the classroom, has made a big difference during the hiring process,” said Debra Salvucci, dean of the Meehan School of Business.  “Preparing our business students for jobs in a data-driven economy is one of our most important missions at Meehan.”

The specialization affords students access to free SAS software, attendance of expert presentations and access to special webinars. It also provides additional learning experiences through the SAS Academic Hub, which offers 15 free e-learning courses and free SAS software.

“Data and analytics are transforming the global economy,” said Lynn Letukas, director of SAS Global Academic Programs. “Employers are clamoring for talented people who can turn data into information to grow businesses, power research and improve society.”

Last year, more than 219,000 job postings listed SAS as a desired skill, according to Emsi, an aggregator of labor market data.

“We are incredibly excited for this partnership. The fusion of a Stonehill graduate education with a credential from the market leader in analytics is really a game changer for our program,” said Michael Salé, program director for the MPS in Data Analytics.  “Our partnership with SAS has helped us accomplish some really great things in our Data Analytics minor program for undergraduates, and we know our collaboration will be even more fruitful in our graduate program.”

The Data Analytics Master of Professional Studies Degree Program at Stonehill provides students with the in-demand skills and knowledge necessary to analyze data and extract actionable information from complex data sets. In addition, its hybrid format fits seamlessly into students' busy professional life while fostering valuable networking and learning opportunities with classmates who are also charting their path to success in the field.
