With the fall semester right around the corner, the Department of Information Technology would like to remind you of a few helpful tips to make sure you have a smooth start.
Configure your device to use hillspot wireless
All residence halls have full wireless coverage. You can find more information about configuring your devices for hillspot on our Knowledge Base. Guest wireless will be disabled starting August 26 at 5 pm until September 9 at noon. You must use hillspot secure wireless to connect to the wireless network.
Register your computer with the Stonehill Network
Connect to hillspot or use an Ethernet cable to connect your computer to the network; open a web browser; and follow the instructions that appear for Device Registration.
My Stonehill App
What’s for lunch at the Commons on Tuesday? Check out the dining menus from the app. When will the shuttle arrive at Braintree Plaza? The Skyhawk Shuttle feature shows real-time GPS tracking of the shuttle. The My Stonehill mobile app provides convenient access to a variety of information for the Stonehill community.
Your Stonehill account is the key to your digital life…protect it!
Log in to our Change Password Service at changepw.stonehill.edu to change your password. You should also choose your personal security questions while you’re there, so you’ll be able to access your Stonehill account anytime you get locked out or forget your password.
Stonehill’s Office 365 licensing allows current Stonehill students and employees to install full versions of Microsoft Office on personal devices: up to five Windows or Mac computers, and on iOS, Android, or Windows Phone tablets and phones. You can store all of your documents in OneDrive and easily edit and share them using Office Online in your web browser. For more information on OneDrive for Business, please visit our Knowledge Base under the OneDrive category and the Office 365 FAQ page.
Cables for your room (on campus residents)
In order to watch cable television, you will need a coax cable. You may need a CAT5 Ethernet cable to connect your gaming console, streaming media player, and/or computer to the network. Both cables can be purchased at the College bookstore. We suggest you use a cable lock to secure your devices.
