Digital Vacation and Safety

Planning on being away for the holidays? Let people know how to reach you (or why they can't...) and learn how to stay safe from phishing while on vacation.

Set your Automatic Replies

The following settings and more can be accessed by clicking the gear at the top right of your screen within Office 365 and clicking Mail toward the bottom.

  • Use Outlook to set up Automatic Replies to emails: Settings > Mail > Automatic Replies
  • Set your availability in your Calendar to let people know when you'll be away. You can also set this in your Automatic Replies by checking “Block my calendar for this period”

Stay safe over the break!

Phishers don’t take vacations, and neither should our vigilance. Always remember to treat unknown or suspicious emails with extra caution, especially those with the new EXT tag and that call you to action (asking you to enter your password or other sensitive information somewhere that was linked from the email). Remember that you can hover your mouse over any links to see where they are actually pointing to, before you click.
