Custom Security Questions

Hopefully, you are already enrolled in our Password Change Self-Service available at changepw.stonehill.edu, and have your security questions configured...but how strong are they? Remember, your password is only as strong as your security questions.  Here are some simple tips to ensure yours are secure.

A good security question should be custom. Resist the urge to use the built-in questions available from the dropdown; instead, create your own questions. This will make it much harder for others to guess, while also being much easier for you to remember.

Answers to security questions should:

  1. Be easy to remember, even 5 or 10 years in the future
  2. Never change
  3. Have a significant number of possible answers
  4. Not be a question you might answer on social media in a survey or in an interview
  5. Be a simple, one or two-word answer
