Part Time Studies

Part-time enrollment consists of enrolling for fewer than 12 credits. Whether you are looking to advance or change your career, earn a degree, or simply gain new knowledge, Stonehill College offers courses for credit that will meet your needs.

Stonehill offers a bachelor's degree in more than thirty majors in the liberal arts, sciences, and business administration.

Part-time students may register for no more than 11 credits in a semester.

Part-Time, Non-Degree Seeking Students

Part-Time, non-degree seeking students may take courses for which they have sufficient preparation and background by registering for the courses in the Registrar’s Office in consultation with Academic Advising. 

Non-degree students are subject to the same academic regulations as degree seeking students. 

Non-degree students who wish to apply for degree status must do so through the Admission Office. The academic status and continued enrollment of non-degree students are reviewed at the conclusion of each academic term by the Admission Office. If admitted, a maximum of ten courses taken at Stonehill College as a non-degree student may be applied toward completion of a degree program.

Part-Time, Degree Seeking Students

Part-time, degree seeking students may select any of the major programs available. Students need to be aware that most courses required for any of the majors will need to be taken during the day. There are a limited number of courses available in the late afternoon and evening. Students should schedule an appointment with an Academic Advisor to discuss their educational plans. Academic Advisors are located in Academic Advising, Duffy 104 and can be reached at 508-565-1306.

Policies

Part-time non-degree seeking students may not reside on campus, and may not compete in intramural, club or varsity sports.

Part-time non-degree seeking students do not have access to Health or Counseling Services, and do not have access to the Sally Blair Ames Sports Complex.

The College reserves the right to limit course enrollment to space availability for part-time non-degree seeking students, if necessary.

Degree seeking students select courses on myHill based on their class year, during the course selection dates that are set for each semester.

New Non-Degree Seeking Students

New Non-Degree seeking students register for courses in person or via mail.

Registration may be completed in person or by mail using the attached Part-Time Registration Form (.pdf)

Payment is due at Registration so registration via fax, phone or e-mail is not currently available.

By mail: Send the Part-Time Registration Form in with a check or money order made out to Stonehill College to :

In Person: The Registrar's Office is open Monday - Friday 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. and is located on the first floor of the Duffy Academic Center, Room 112.

Tuition and Fees

Payment must be made at the time of Registration.

Policies

Course Cancellation Policy: Stonehill reserves the right to cancel any course with insufficient enrollment. Decisions are usually made at least one week prior to the first class meeting.

Health Insurance: Massachusetts requires that all students enrolled in 9 credits or more during a semester must have proof of health insurance. Students without health insurance are required to purchase the insurance through their educational institution. Learn more about student health insurance.

Withdrawal Policy: Students who wish to withdraw from a course must submit a Course Withdrawal Form signed by the course instructor. Course Withdrawal Forms are available from the Academic Advising, Duffy 104. Students must complete a withdrawal form indicating their desire to withdraw from the specified course. Merely ceasing to attend classes or notifying the instructor does not constitute official withdrawal. The last day to withdraw from courses is listed on the Academic Calendar.

Grades on Line: Grades can be accessed through myHill .You will need your myHill username and password which you will receive after registering for your first course.
