- International Express Mail (EMS): 3-to-5-day delivery for letters and parcels. Insured Mail Covers against loss or damage. Return Receipt Requested Provides evidence of delivery to addressee. Can only be used with registered mail or International Express Mail. Certificate of Mailing Provides proof that mail is sent.
- Separate Off-Campus Mail, On-Campus Mail, Stamped and Foreign. (Use elastics, paper clips, etc. to separate.)
- Keep all different sized mail pieces separate. (Such as #10 envelopes, postal cards, 9x12 flats etc.; if necessary, use elastics.) Please don’t just dump everything into your mailbag in all directions. EVERYTHING MUST BE KEPT FACING THE SAME DIRECTION. DON'T NEST MAIL.
- Place receiver's name and department/box# on all inter-campus mail.
- We charge each department for postage. Please label each pile of outgoing mail with your department number or name if it is not already in the return address on the envelope, especially the large manilla envelopes.
- Please notify us at the earliest time when you have a large quantity of outgoing mail. PREFERABLY A DAY OR TWO IN ADVANCE. Large mailings should be in the mailroom no later than 2:00pm for same day processing. For ease of handling, call the mailroom for tubs or trays to be delivered to your department.
- Before a Bulk Mailing is done, Mail Services must be notified of the amount of postage. An account is kept at the North Easton Post Office, and each mailing is deducted from that account. In order to assure sufficient funds, a week's notice is required in order to have a check cut.
- Please do not use staples on any outgoing mail. They will damage the meter.

Personal Mail
"Personal Mail" is defined as any mail not related to Stonehill or your position at Stonehill. Outgoing personal mail must have the correct postage already applied. If postage is required, please stop and we will help you with correct amount needed. We ask that you only receive personal mail or packages on a limited basis due to space limitations. We do understand however that there is often no one at home to accept parcels and in that case, we will receive them and notify you accordingly. If this instance, we ask that you pick up packages at the mailroom in a timely manner as we cannot deliver personal packages.
Intra-Campus Mail
To ensure delivery in the most efficient way, please use intra-campus envelopes. Please be sure to be clear as to where the piece is going and whom has sent the piece. Always include both the name and the department and take care that it is legible. We thank you for this consideration.
Mass Mailings to Faculty/Staff: Mailings directed to specific faculty and staff must have labels requested by department order. Other options to distribute information to faculty/staff are:
- Sending one flyer to each department to post
- Sending a bundle of flyers to each department to distribute
