Stop Campus Hazing Act Information
The Stop Campus Hazing Act, enacted on December 23, 2024, is a federal law that strengthens campus safety by requiring colleges and universities to publicly disclose incidents of hazing and enhance transparency through reporting. As part of this law, institutions must include hazing in their Annual Security Reports (ASR) and maintain a publicly accessible website that publishes information about substantiated hazing violations at least twice per year.
Stonehill is committed to full compliance with this federal requirement and to fostering a safe, respectful, and inclusive campus community.
Annual Hazing Statistics
Stonehill publishes hazing-related statistics each year as part of its Annual Security Report (ASR) and has part of its Campus Hazing Transparency Report (CHTR).
Massachusetts Anti-Hazing Law
Stonehill College complies with Massachusetts General Laws, Chapter 269, Sections 17–19, which define hazing as any conduct that willfully or recklessly endangers the physical or mental health of a person during initiation into a student organization.
