Notaries Public on Campus
A Notary Public is a public official authorized by the government to serve as an impartial witness in the signing of important documents. The primary responsibilities of a notary include:
- Verifying the identity of signatories: Ensuring that the individuals signing a document are who they claim to be.
- Witnessing signatures: Observing the signing of documents to confirm that they are signed willingly and under no duress.
- Administering oaths and affirmations: Confirming that the statements made in a document are true to the best of the signer's knowledge.
- Certifying documents: Attesting that a copy of an original document is true and accurate.
