Environmental Sciences & Studies is an interdepartmental program that offers both Bachelor of Science and Bachelor of Arts degrees. Specifically, the B.S. curriculum engages students in studies of Earth as a physical system; the B.A. curriculum stresses the economic, political, sociological and philosophical dimensions of environmental issues. Both programs recognize the complexity and multidisciplinary nature of environmental problems facing the world today and prepare students to understand and protect the natural world.

The Interdisciplinary Studies program is an alternative for students who seek to accomplish intellectual goals outside of a conventional major. It requires an expression of creativity and self-motivation, and a foundation of intellectual commitment.

The Office of Community-Based Learning provides faculty, community partners, and students with the resources and opportunities to work together and create mutually beneficial experiences where learning outcomes and pedagogical strategies critically embrace and blend with community improvement and social change in both campus and community settings.
