The Office of Community-Based Learning provides faculty, community partners, and students with the resources and opportunities to work together and create mutually beneficial experiences where learning outcomes and pedagogical strategies critically embrace and blend with community improvement and social change in both campus and community settings.

The mission of the Environmental Stewardship Council is to foster proactive, environmentally sustainable policies, approaches, and practices by the campus community that are consistent with Stonehill's mission, guiding principles, and student learning goals and outcomes.

The Farm at Stonehill was established in January, 2011, in response to food access issues in the neighboring city of Brockton, Massachusetts. Since its inception, The Farm has donated over 40,000 pounds of fresh organic produce to our four community partner organizations. Via our four community partners, our produce reaches the table of about 3,000 individuals or families each season who may not otherwise have access to fresh, organic produce due to a number of social, economic, and geographical barriers.

Inspired by the enduring values of a Holy Cross education, and the belief that learning is enhanced when it takes place in the context of a compelling situation, the H.O.P.E. service immersion program seeks to engage members of the Stonehill community in cross-cultural service experiences. H.O.P.E. further endeavors to challenge the Stonehill community to grow in love of God and neighbor by embodying the Church's commitment to a preferential option for and with the poor.

L.I.G.H.T. Community Engagement Program is Stonehill's largest community service organization on campus. In the past few years, over 800 students participated in service on and off campus, consistently contributing over 90,000 hours to the community. Inspired by the enduring values of a Holy Cross Education, Into the Streets offers the Stonehill Community opportunities for meaningful service experiences that challenge and teach them to be agents of social change committed to the creation of a just and compassionate world.

The Office of Sustainability aims to promote awareness of environmental issues in our community and around the world through community based learning, educational programs and events, and campus wide initiatives that will encourage environmentally friendly practices among students, faculty and staff.
