Fr. Aloysius E Cussen

1920-1984

Born in Boston, MA, Fr. Cussen attended South Boston High School and Boston College, graduating from college in 1941. He then entered the novitiate of Holy Cross in North Dartmouth, MA, and completed his theological studies at Holy Cross College in Washington D.C. His Master of Arts was from the University of Notre Dame, and received advanced studies in economics from Columbia University.  Fr. Cussen was a professor of economics at King’s College in Wilkes-Barre, PA from 1948 until 1949, and from 1951 until 1960. He was vice president of King’s from 1956 until 1960. He was later assigned to Stonehill College where he served as vice president and academic dean. He once again taught economics at Stonehill from 1966-1967, and acted as the treasurer of the Congregation’s eastern province for several years.
