  • Visit the Pop-Up Library in the Roche Dining Commons: While you're enjoying lunch between 12pm - 2pm at the Roche Commons on Wednesday, February 19th, be sure to stop by the Pop-Up Library to learn more about all that the MacPhaidin Library has to offer.
  • Census 2020 and Information for College Students: Census Day is April 1st, 2020, but began on January 21st in the rural Alaskan village of Tooksook Bay.  Between March 12th and the 20th households in the in the lower 49 states will begin to receive official Census Bureau mail with detailed information on how to respond to the 2020 Census online, by phone or by mail. All Census date is confidential.  College students will be counted by where they are residing on April 1st, 2020.
  • The Witcher: Have you watched the popular Netflix series, The Witcher?  Adam Wigley ’20 shares his reviews on the series and the book series it’s based on.  
Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI): 
  • Streaming Films to Watch During Black History Month: Unsurprisingly, the Oscars did not do a great job of representing women and people of color this year, but in celebration of Black History Month we have a number of streaming films you might enjoy.  These films are accessible both on and off campus.

  • Faculty Research Forum: Please join us for a Faculty Research Forum on Friday, February 21st at 2:30pm in the south end of the library hosted by Professor Dan Bednarz of the Department of Sociology and Criminology.
  • Valentine’s Day Crafternoon Recap: On Monday, February 10th, the library hosted a Valentine’s Day Crafternoon.  Many students and staff stopped by to create over 40 handmade Valentine’s Day cards for the residents at Southeast Rehabilitation and Skilled Care Center.
  • February is Library Lovers Month: Be sure to stop by the whiteboard next to Ace’s Place in the library to share what you love most about the library.  Whether it’s your favorite event, space, book or movie, staff member, or treat at Ace’s Place you love most in the library, we want to know!
  • Streaming Films to Watch Over Valentine’s Day: The library has many streaming films available to get you in the spirit of Valentine’s Day.  These films are accessible both on and off campus.
