We’re glad you’re back. It’s been too quiet in the library without you!  We hope you had a restful break, enjoyed time with family and friends, and are ready to begin the Spring semester. As you make your way through the first week of classes, we want to remind you that we’re here for you whether you need help with research, a place to gather with friends, a quiet nook to study, or a great latte.

Below is a rundown of some of the library's services and resources available to help you during the Spring 2024 semester.

  • Meet with a Librarian – You can use LibCal, our online scheduler, to book an in-person or Zoom appointment with a librarian. During the fall semester, we met one-on-one with almost 100 of you. We’d like to beat that number this semester. During these sessions, our reference librarians can help you with your research, show you how to properly format your bibliography, and more. Don’t see an appointment time that meets your needs? Stop in at or call The Desk at 508-565-1313 and we’ll do our best to accommodate your schedule.
  • Stay Up-to-Date with Today’s News – The MacPhaidin Library provides all members of the Stonehill Community with free electronic access to the Wall Street Journal and the New York Times. You will have to fill out a short registration form for each publication. Remember to use your Stonehill email address when filling out those forms to confirm you are still affiliated with the college.
  • Sign up for an eCard at the Boston Public Library - The Boston Public Library allows any resident of Massachusetts (including college students from out-of-state) to get a BPL eCard. You don’t need to worry about driving the 25 miles into Boston, though, you can sign up for your card online and enjoy an immediate host of resources. In addition to research databases and newspapers, you will have full access to collections of e-books, audiobooks, popular magazines, streaming movies, music, television shows and more.
  • Ace that interview - Do you have a zoom interview scheduled? Consider booking our Zoom Room. Located on the second floor of the library, our Zoom Room features an attractive backdrop that will lend professionalism to your presentation. You can book the Zoom Room using LibCal (make sure to select room ML 211). If you want to see a picture of the Zoom Room, check out our “Book a Study Room” LibGuide.
  • Visit the Library of Things – Located on the first floor of the library, across from The Desk, the library of things has a collection of items for your entertainment (game consoles, board games, baking supplies, craft materials) as well as a variety of helpful items (chargers, calculators).
  • Browse our Leisure Reading Collection – The Leisure reading collection is found next to the Library of Things and has a wide assortment of popular fiction.
  • Stop at Aces for some refreshment – While you’re in the library, pick up a snack or Starbucks beverage.

We wish you a successful Spring 2024 semester and look forward to seeing you.
