Our annual Spring Semester “De-Stress Day” will take place on Friday, May 3 (just a little more than three weeks away!). That day, MacPhaidin Library will be the place to unwind and engage in a little self-care before your finals begin.

Throughout the day, we will be distributing free snacks, giving away summer-themed library swag, collecting words of encouragement on our affirmation board, setting up games and puzzles inside the library and cornhole and can jam outside the library (weather permitting). Beginning at 11 a.m. we will host a daylong series of special events, including:

  • 11 a.m.–12 p.m. – Pet Therapy with Lola on the Library’s first floor
  • 12-1 p.m. – Pet Therapy with Lucy on the Library’s first floor
  • 1–3 p.m. Counseling services will offer “Mindfulness and Mandalas” with coloring, music, and free snacks in the DisCo (Library Room 116)
  • 3-4 p.m. – Make your own self-care packages with Stonehill’s Office of Health and Wellness. In past semesters, these goodie bags have included stickers, journals, sleep masks, and herbal tea. They are extremely popular, so make sure you get there early!
  • 6-7 p.m. Free coffee and donuts in the Digital Lab and we are giving away FREE MacPhaidin Library coffee mugs to the first 25 students in line. Again, get there at 6 sharp. The mugs will not last, and the donuts go fast.

Please follow us on Instagram @macphaidinlibrary for updates and additions to our finals event schedule. Do you have anything you want us to offer during the de-stress event? Email Lindsay Boezi lboezi@stonehill.edu or Trish McPherson pmpherson@stonehill.edu with suggestions.

And remember, if you need any research help between now and the conclusion of exams, you can always book an appointment with a reference librarian
