The late Rev. Thomas M. Halkovic ’67, C.S.C. was instrumental in helping to make student life at Stonehill an engaging, positive experience. He worked in Residence Life, Student Activities and Campus Ministry. He continually went above and beyond for our students, including traveling with a group of students to Tennessee on an alternative spring break trip. Fr. Tom also served alumni by presiding at weddings and baptisms, and his retreats were legendary.

When alumni think back on their years at Stonehill, they may reflect on the friendships they made, the lessons they learned both in and out of the classroom and the experiences that helped make them the people they are today. Many remember the time and dedication given to involvements with campus organizations like Student Government Association, Student Alumni Association, Campus Ministry and Orientation.

Activities like these helped build leadership skills that alumni incorporate into their professional and personal lives. The time dedicated to these organizations helped benefit all of the students at Stonehill as well as the campus community.

In appreciation for all that he did not only for students, but for alumni as well, a scholarship created for student leaders has been named The Reverend Thomas M. Halkovic, C.S.C. Student Leadership Scholarship.

Your support of The Reverend Thomas M. Halkovic, C.S.C. Student Leadership Scholarship provides opportunities for Stonehill student leaders while honoring the dedication Fr. Tom gave to Stonehill every day.

I would like to extend a sincere thank you for awarding me with The Reverend Thomas M. Halkovic, C.S.C. Student Leadership Scholarship for the 2016-2017 academic year. There is no way that I can thank you enough for this generous award. This scholarship has relieved a great deal of financial difficulty in me paying for my college career, as I am paying for college by myself. Your generous and thoughtful contribution to my college career will never be forgotten and I feel privileged to have been awarded and recognized for this scholarship.
