Peter Ubertaccio assumed the position of Vice President for Academic Affairs at Stonehill College in May 2023, bringing to this role comprehensive oversight of academic programming, faculty affairs, and academic administration. This appointment marked his return to Stonehill following his tenure as vice president for academic affairs at Caldwell University in New Jersey, a position he held from June 2021 to January 2023.

Ubertaccio's extensive history with Stonehill College spans nearly two decades of distinguished service in both faculty and administrative capacities. As associate professor of political science, he taught "American National Government & Politics," "The American Presidency" and "Massachusetts State Politics." His academic career at the institution encompassed multiple leadership roles, including chair of the Department of Political Science and International Studies, and director of the Joseph Martin Institute for Law & Society. He was appointed the founding dean of the Thomas & Donna May School of Arts & Sciences in 2017.

As a scholar specializing in American political development, political parties, and institutional analysis, Ubertaccio has contributed significantly to the field through publications in premier academic venues. His work appears in the Routledge Handbook of Political Management, Winning Elections with Political Marketing, and the Routledge Handbook of Political Marketing. Notably, his collaboration with Brian Cook of Clark University resulted in a contribution to the centennial issue of the American Political Science Review, examining Woodrow Wilson's foundational influence on political science methodology in "Wilson's Failure: Roots of Contention About the Meaning of a Science of Politics." He wrote two career guides published by CQ/Sage Press. His courses have traveled to Washington, DC, New York City, Guatemala, and Mexico.

Ubertaccio maintains an active public intellectual presence, providing expert commentary on Massachusetts and national politics across major media outlets including the Boston Globe, New York Times, USA Today, Wall Street Journal, and Politico. His media engagement extends to broadcast analysis on WGBH, New England Cable News, and various radio programs. His op-eds and analysis pieces have appeared in the Boston Globe, Providence Journal, Commonwealth Magazine, Boston Business Journal, Cape Cod Times, and Cape Cod Life.

His service commitments include his role as a current member of the Board of Directors of the John F. Kennedy Hyannis Museum Foundation, where he previously served as president. His board service has included Pope John Paul II High School in Hyannis, Boston College's Woods College Academic Program Committee, and the OpenCape Corporation.

Ubertaccio earned a B.A. in politics from the Catholic University of America and completed a Ph.D. in politics at Brandeis University.
