Biography

Professor Angela Paradise is an Associate Professor in the Department of Communication at Stonehill College where she teaches courses including Mediated Communication, Media Criticism, Children and Media, and Communication Research Methods.

Professor Paradise's research interests include the social impact of media, issues surrounding children, teens and media, and K-12 media literacy efforts both within the United States and abroad. Her work has been published in the Journal of Broadcasting & Electronic Media, Communication Teacher, Cyberpsychology, Behavior & Social Networking, and the Journal on Excellence in College Teaching.  

Advised by Dr. Erica Scharrer, Professor Paradise earned a Ph.D. in Communication from the University of Massachusetts. Prior to pursuing her doctorate, she earned her Bachelor's degree at Tufts University, where she focused on coursework in communication, technology and children's media. During her graduate studies, she held fellowship positions with the International Radio & Television Society (IRTS) and Sesame Workshop.
