Biography
Professor of Practice in Education and Coordinator of Field Experience Margaret Carroll joined the Stonehill College community in 2025. She is responsible for supporting teacher candidates through coursework, practicum seminars and field placements. She partners with schools, faculty and community stakeholders to ensure meaningful, well-supported learning experiences for future educators.
The faculty member earned a Ph.D. in Educational Studies from Boston University, where her research explored the ways educator preparation can better equip teachers for the professional and personal demands of the classroom. Her work examined factors that influence teacher well-being, professional resilience and long-term retention in the field. She has presented at national conferences and contributed to projects aimed at strengthening teacher preparation and support systems.
Previously, she served as a K-12 educator, academic support coordinator, adjunct professor and student teaching supervisor. She has taught across K–12 and higher education settings, specializing in inclusive education, assessment and evaluation, and the preparation of teachers to meet diverse learner needs. Her professional experience includes developing and facilitating professional development, designing evidence-based instructional supports, and collaborating with families, colleagues, and community organizations.
In addition to her teaching and administrative roles, she has worked with nonprofit and educational organizations on initiatives related to student and educator success. She is committed to preparing teachers who are not only skilled in their practice but also equipped to navigate the evolving challenges of the profession.
