
Evan A. Davis
Assistant Professor of Sport Management
Biography
Assistant Professor of Sport Management Evan Davis joined the Stonehill College community in 2025. Previously, he served as a faculty member at St. John Fisher University, Linfield University and Ithaca College. He also spent time working in interscholastic athletics, intercollegiate athletics and the summer camp industry.
Davis's research is focused on creating environments that encourage autonomy, self-directedness and self-complexity in adolescents and young adults. In sport, he has explored how an overemphasis on performance can constrain the development of identity among young athletes. In the classroom, Davis explores how alternative grading systems, self-directed learning and an emphasis on skills-based development can improve student motivation and learning outcomes.
