About the Speaker
Leonard Jefferson spent nearly 40 years in a maximum-security prison creating art, music and poetry. He also taught himself and other inmates Arabic and Arabic writing. He has tackled topics like personal and institutional responsibility, freedom, justice, forgiveness and the value and effectiveness of punishment through his art.
