A Catholic college founded by the Congregation of Holy Cross in 1948, Stonehill would like to help you build on the rigorous academic standards you’ve already experienced at Cardinal Spellman High School and offer you the opportunity to further your studies in a community where exceptional minds are fortified by strong character.

That’s why we provide an annual $6,000 Cardinal Spellman Grant and a minimum of $20,000 (up to $35,000 for residential students) in merit scholarship funding to all graduates of Cardinal Spellman High School in Brockton, Massachusetts, who are admitted to Stonehill and remain in good standing over their four years at the College.* Over the course of that time, this offers students and their families a total value of at least $104,000, with a potential value of up to $164,000.

This enhanced level of commitment is intended to reinforce our appreciation of each family’s investment in local Catholic education, the level of preparation for college provided by Cardinal Spellman High School and your capacity to succeed at Stonehill.

No separate application is required unless need-based aid is sought.** The Cardinal Spellman Award and merit scholarship are renewed for up to three subsequent years as long as the recipient remains a full-time student, achieves satisfactory academic progress as defined by the specific scholarship level and maintains an acceptable disciplinary record.

Inspired and guided by the tenets of a Catholic education, Stonehill combines outstanding academic and professional opportunities in a community of service and inclusion. The result is confident leaders who think critically and care passionately.

No Separate Application Required

Upon acceptance to Stonehill College, all graduates of Cardinal Spellman High School are automatically awarded the Cardinal Spellman Award. A separate scholarship application is not required.

* Division I recruited student athletes may not be eligible for this merit commitment due to the potential awarding of sports-related aid.

** Demonstrated financial need is determined by the College using the information provided through the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). To be eligible, all students must submit the FAFSA application and be eligible to receive Title IV funding from the federal government.
