As a Reference Librarian, Heather Brodie Perry assists patrons with their research and provides class instruction in information literacy. She is also responsible for Interlibrary Loan Services, and Streaming Media Services within Stonehill College. Heather is also the Liaison to the Natural Sciences providing the faculty in these disciplines with specialized class instruction, and collection development. In addition to her role as a Reference Librarian Heather also teaches the Learning Communities Through the Looking Glass, and #Reimagining Education. The two Learning Communities combine Information Technology and Information Literacy with an investigation into questions in social policy.
Heather’s main interests are in teaching students how to better access and evaluate information. She is currently examining how the library’s resources can better assist faculty interested in “flipping the classroom”, and how the library's new streaming program can help.
Heather is currently pursuing her PhD in Information Science at Simmons College; her research interest is in corporate sponsorship of information, and its impact on the body of scientific literature.
Heather began her career at Framingham State College, before moving on to the public Libraries in Framingham and Rockland, before returning to her Alma Mater in 2000.
