As an educator with the U.S. Embassy School in Germany and the Archdiocese of Chicago, you inspired your students by equipping them with the knowledge and tools needed to shape the world beyond the classroom.
As the former president of St. Catherine University and Alverno College and through your leadership roles at institutions such as Marygrove College, St. Norbert College and the University of Notre Dame, you have advanced academic innovation and expanded opportunities for future leaders.
You were previously named the 2025 recipient of the Theodore M. Hesburgh Award by the Association of Catholic Colleges and Universities. This honor recognized your outstanding leadership and your profound contributions to higher education and society. Throughout your life and career, you have championed peace, embodying the enduring legacy of the late Reverend Theodore Hesburgh, C.S.C., president emeritus of the University of Notre Dame and world-renowned humanitarian.
