Steven A. King

Steve King leads the College's Advancement division, overseeing strategic initiatives related to development, alumni and donor engagement, advancement communications, and operations.

He joined the campus community in 2023 as Assistant Vice President for Advancement. Prior to Stonehill, King served as Senior Vice President for Advancement at Brown University and Executive Director of the Brown University Sports Foundation.

His background extends beyond higher education to the financial sector. He was previously Executive Director and Senior Banker at J.P. Morgan Private Bank and Financial Advisor at Morgan Stanley.  

After graduating from Brown University in 1991 with a degree in Organizational Behavior and Management, King was drafted by the New York Rangers and began a nine-year career playing professional hockey that included stints in the National Hockey League with the New York Rangers and the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim. He finished his professional career playing for the Providence Bruins of the American Hockey League, helping the franchise capture their first and only Calder Cup Championship in 1999. He later served as the assistant coach of the ice hockey team at Brown University from 2000 to 2002.

King was inducted into the Rhode Island Hockey Hall of Fame Class of 2023, an honor granted to him in recognition of his talents and accomplishments on the ice.
