Biography

Director for Student Success and Persistence Shannon Balliro provides leadership for Stonehill College’s Academic Advising and Tutoring Services teams. She is committed to advancing student success, persistence, retention and belonging through proactive, student-centered support, with a particular focus on removing barriers to college access and achievement. In her role, she partners with faculty and staff across the College to develop policies, programs and initiatives that promote equitable outcomes and strengthen the student experience. In addition to her administrative leadership, she provides academic and motivational coaching focused on study strategies, executive functioning and academic success.

Prior to joining Stonehill, Balliro spent nearly a decade at Boston University supporting undergraduate and graduate students both in and out of the classroom as they pursued their educational goals. A first-generation college graduate herself, she is passionate about creating inclusive learning environments and empowering students to develop the skills, confidence, and sense of belonging needed to achieve academic and personal success.
