Biography
Jennie Henriques is a senior healthcare executive and strategic leader in enterprise risk management, compliance and patient safety, currently serving as Vice President, Chief Compliance & Privacy Officer at Care New England. She brings over 20 years of leadership experience across complex healthcare systems, with expertise in compliance, privacy, internal audit, risk management, patient safety, quality, claims management and regulatory readiness.
She began her career in medical malpractice insurance defense before transitioning into healthcare risk management, where she has held progressive leadership roles. She has successfully transformed compliance programs into proactive, data-driven functions, strengthened audit and risk assessment capabilities, and enhanced collaboration between clinical and operational leadership.
She has led health system-wide initiatives that improved patient safety outcomes, including work contributing to a 95% reduction in serious safety events, and has extensive experience in board reporting, regulatory oversight, and enterprise risk strategy.
In her teaching, Henriques integrates real-world healthcare leadership experience with practical application, bringing current regulatory, compliance and risk management challenges into the classroom. She focuses on equipping students with the skills to navigate complex healthcare environments, make ethical decisions and lead with a risk-informed perspective.
In addition to her executive role, Henriques serves as adjunct faculty at Stonehill College and previously at Boston University. She teaches healthcare management and enterprise risk management, helping to develop future leaders in healthcare.
