Fatemeh Farajzadeh
Professor of Practice in Data Analytics
Biography
Fatemeh Farajzadeh joined the Stonehill College community in 2026. She is a Professor of Practice in Data Analytics in the Department of Management & Business Analytics within the Leo J. Meehan School of Business. Her research centers on decision intelligence, combining prescriptive analytics (Operations Research) and predictive analytics (Machine Learning), informed by descriptive and qualitative insights, to address operational challenges impacting society. Given her interdisciplinary skill set, she is particularly interested in addressing challenges in social service systems, humanitarian operations and crisis response systems while incorporating underexplored considerations, such as risk and fairness, into the decision-making process.
Farajzadeh has also been leading projects to improve the operational effectiveness of private refugee resettlement in partnership with regional nonprofit organizations. One of these projects includes the development of Refugees Uniting Through HIAS (RUTH), a pioneering preference-based matching system deployed by HIAS in 2022 to facilitate the resettlement of Ukrainian refugees to the United States.
As an educator, she is passionate about translating theoretical and methodological rigor into meaningful learning experiences. She helps students connect analytical theory with practical decision-making and real-world impact.
