Biography

Professor of English Amra Brooks directs the Creative Writing program and manages the Chet Raymo Literary Series at Stonehill College. Previously, she taught creative writing courses at the University of California in Santa Cruz and San Diego, and Muhlenberg College.

Her memoir Mother Is a Place is set to be published by Dopamine Books in September 2026. Her novella California was published by Teenage Teardrops in 2008. Her writing has appeared in Artforum, Inventory, Khôra, Printeresting, Entropy, This Long Century and many other publications.
