About the Program

Calvin Mires
Instructor of Sociology Calvin Mires

Shipwrecks sit at the nexus of humanities and science: between archaeological processes and evolving biological ecosystems, between the most complex machines of their time and today’s cutting-edge technologies. Calvin Mires highlights the growing need for collaboration between archaeologists and ocean scientists and the importance of interdisciplinary research that recognizes these sites as both historical resources and ecological structures.

This event is sponsored by the MacPháidín Library. Light refreshments will be provided, courtesy of the Office of Academic Affairs.
