Lunch Line

Tuesdays were known as #foodtrucktuesdays this fall semester. Kicking off the year was Moyzilla, which serves Asian comfort food and dumplings. Other popular food trucks to offer lunch on campus were the Chicken and Rice Guys and Melt.

Congratulations to former Stonehill College Campus Minister and Residence Director, Ricky Bevington, who professed his first vows and completed the novitiate.

Bird Watching

“When COVID won’t let you take your ornithology students to the bird banding station, bring the banding station to them!”

—Biology Professor Nicholas Block invited Manomet Banding Lab to host its first-ever Zoom banding demonstration, where students saw birds, such as a Swainson’s Thrush and Black-throated Blue Warbler, virtually up close.

Chalk It Up

I wanted to have an activity where residents could interact with each other in-person despite COVID. When residents passed by, they stopped to draw anything they liked. My hope was that the art made people smile as they walked by.”

—O’Hara Hall Resident Assistant Deirdre Boyer ’22 noted of her chalk-writing activity.

There’s no doubt that 2020 has been a trying and challenge-filled year for most... Regardless of the challenge, GOLD alumni have continued to support the College and its mission, and, for that, I am so thankful.

What to Wear

“You can play around with patterns and colors, however, don’t go too crazy!”
