This year, Stonehill College celebrates 75 years as a community dedicated to educating the next generation of leaders. It has been a joyous time to come together to honor our shared history as we boldly step into our bright future.

This celebratory year commenced with Academic Convocation, a gathering that brought together more than 100 alumni, representing each decade of our rich history. At the 75th Anniversary Jubilee Mass in September, the Most Reverend Edgar da Cunha, Bishop of the Diocese of Fall River, served as the principal celebrant. This liturgy felt like a full-circle moment, as Bishop Cassidy of Fall River dedicated the College’s founding at a Pontifical Mass in the fall of 1948—a poignant reminder of our enduring commitment to faith and education.

As we seek to steward the educational needs of young people today amid the complexities and challenges of a changing world, I am reminded of the prophetic words of the Congregation of Holy Cross founder, Blessed Basil Moreau. He wrote, “How we educate the mind will change with the times; how we cultivate the heart is and will remain timeless.” It is this timeless commitment to educating the whole person that has blessed Stonehill for 75 years and will carry us ahead.

Within the pages of this special 75th anniversary edition, you will discover stories of Stonehill community members, past and present, making a profound impact in their communities, professions and the lives of others. The magazine, first published in 1985, has evolved over the years, and this refreshed issue is designed to showcase the people, their stories and the vital work unfolding across our community.

From our humble beginnings, the optimistic spirit of Stonehill has guided us into a flourishing future. The bedrock of our strength has always been fortified by our people—the Congregation of Holy Cross, our students, families, alumni, faculty, staff, benefactors and friends. It is with deep gratitude that I acknowledge your generosity, which has shaped our beloved institution.

May Mary, Queen of the Summit, continue to bless Stonehill and illuminate the path for all who endeavor to create a more just and compassionate world.
