In the six decades since you graduated, your service to the alumni cause at Stonehill College has been simply remarkable. We estimate that together you have devoted a total of seventy-six years to alumni volunteer activities.

Moreover, the range of your commitment has been equally substantial in terms of time and expertise shared. Not only have you served with distinction on the Alumni Council but also on alumni committees covering academics, community affairs, programming, class reunions, scholarships and special projects.

Then, lest we forget, there was your favorite role of greeting and assisting new students and their parents on move-in day. On countless occasions, you spent a day calming nerves and dispensing advice while helping to carry books, bags and more into residence halls.

That kind of personal touch in making students and parents feel welcome on a pivotal day is testimony to your innate love for the College. Indeed, it underscores your gift for understated kindness, compassion, initiative and reliability.

In appreciation of your record of alumni service and related accomplishments, Stonehill College is proud to present you both with the Francis X. Dillon ’70 Alumni Service Award for 2019.
