Course Overview

Calculus of a single variable: techniques of integration, applications of integration, infinite sequences and series, Taylor series, first order differential equations, parametric curves, polar coordinates, polar curves.

For each topic, instruction is provided in the form of short videos and lecture notes, so that students can choose what format works best for them. Students will get frequent feedback to help them improve and master the course topics.

Additional Information

We will use WebAssign platform and pre-recorded videos to help you. So, you will have enough help/resources to succeed if you focus on this course and devote enough time and effort into it. This is a 4-credit math course taken in five weeks in an asynchronous, online setting. Thus, the course load will be easily over 20+ (even 30+) hours per week.

About the Instructor

Hsin-hao Su

Professor of Mathematics
Professor Su has been teaching all ranges of undergraduate math courses for 10+ years. Professor Su earned a Ph.D. in Mathematics from Johns Hopkins University. His research interest focuses on Algebraic Topology and Homotopy Theory. Originally from Taiwan, Professor Su grew up with baseball; not only did he play baseball for his alma mater in Taiwan but he enjoyed watching and coaching baseball as well.
