  • Internship experience, typically 8-10 hours/week for a minimum of 112 hours on site
  • Online class meetings held Tuesdays from 7-9 p.m. on June 4, 11 and 18, July 9 and 23, and August 6, 2024
  • 4 credits | $2,500
  • Last day to register: May 21, 2024
  • Prerequisites: Senior or second-semester, junior criminology majors who have completed CRM 201, CRM 310 and at least one other criminology course
  • Note: This course is for Stonehill students only

Course Overview

The Capstone course for the major, the Internship provides an academic experience in which the third- or fourth-year student (only) contribute to the ongoing organizational process while learning to apply criminology theories to observations of structure, function, and process in a criminal justice setting.

About the Instructor

Kathleen Currul-Dykeman

Chair of the Criminology Department, Director of the Martin Institute of Law & Society
Kathleen Currul-Dykeman is an expert on courtroom dynamics. A former prosecutor specializing in domestic violence, she has held the position of Suffolk Superior Court assistant district attorney; supervising assistant district attorney for the Dorchester, MA Domestic Violence Court; and assistant district attorney in Worcester, MA. Prof. Currul-Dykeman combines her knowledge of criminal law with her research interests. Most recently, she has studied how attitudes held by attorneys and judges affect the outcomes of domestic violence cases.
