Stonehill College is deeply committed to the greatest health and welfare, and ultimate safety, success and happiness, of all of our students. As you may know, alcohol use, and in particular, its abuse, is a significant national issue affecting college students’ health and academic success, even for the many students who abstain from alcohol. In addition, healthy relationships, issues of consent, and sexual assault continue to be critical and ongoing topics of concern at colleges and universities across the country. Stonehill takes these issues very seriously. As such, we have implemented comprehensive prevention programs to help you make the safest, healthiest decisions possible for your overall wellbeing.

Yes. All incoming and transfer students are required to complete both courses, AlcoholEdu for College and Sexual Assault Prevention for Undergraduates, regardless of completion at another institution as they include policy information specific to Stonehill.

Yes. Whether or not you drink, you will very likely encounter other students who drink or talk about drinking. The course provides information about coping with others’ drinking behavior, in addition to how to respond effectively in situations where others are at risk of alcohol-related harm (e.g. alcohol poisoning). AlcoholEdu provides personal pathways through the course based on what students already know about alcohol and their own drinking behaviors. If you do not drink, the material you receive will provide specific information tailored to your choice.

No. You may take the course in multiple sittings. However, please make sure that you click on the “next” button after completing a section and before logging out of the program. If you do not progress to the next section before logging out, you will have to repeat the previous section.

The courses are designed to assess your knowledge prior to taking them. The survey checks your understanding after you have had time to process the material. This pre- and post-assessment format helps Stonehill determine the effectiveness of the program.

In order to finalize your registration for classes next spring, you are required to complete both  AlcoholEdu for College and Sexual Assault Prevention for Undergraduates in the fall semester. A hold will be placed on your student account until this is done.

Yes. Both courses include surveys that ask about your experiences and attitudes on each of these important topics. All survey responses are strictly confidential; Stonehill College will only receive information about the student body as a whole and will never see any individual students’ answers.

Courses are best supported by the latest versions of Chrome, Firefox, and Safari (preferred), or Microsoft Internet Explorer 11+.  In addition, be sure to check your device’s internet access, audio capabilities, and internet browser’s Adobe flash player.
