Course Description

Discussion and resolution of ethical problems associated with the practice of medicine and the pursuit of biomedical research. Topics include: ethical issues in human experimentation; euthanasia; abortion; fetal research; and reproductive technologies.

Course Instructor

Constantinos Mekios

Assistant Professor of Philosophy

Constantinos Mekios is Associate Professor of Philosophy at Stonehill College. Before earning his Ph.D. in Philosophy from Boston University, he also studied biology and received M.A. and M.Phil. degrees from the Department of Genetics and Development at Columbia University. His main research interests are in the philosophy of science, with a focus on the philosophy of biology. He also teaches biomedical ethics.
