Easy Web Conferencing

If you find yourself asking people for their personal Skype username to set up interviews or web meetings, Skype for Business can make the process much easier and more professional.

  • Windows – In Outlook 2013 or later, go to Calendar, click the New Skype Meeting button, and Outlook will automatically generate a calendar invite for you to send to attendees, pre-populated with meeting info and a link that both you and the attendees can click to attend the meeting.
  • Mac – Create a new meeting, then click Online Meeting and then Add Online Meeting.

It’s that simple! Best of all, the link it generates works from anywhere – whether using the full Skype for Business app, a web-app in your browser, or through the Skype for Business mobile app on iOS, Android, or Windows Phone.

If you're using a device that doesn't have Outlook 2016 installed, you can still create Skype meetings easily through your web browser.  Simply log in to Office 365, open the Calendar app, click New, and click the Add Skype Meeting button.  A meeting link will be generated and you can go ahead and fill out the rest of the meeting information as usual.

Be sure to visit our Knowledge Base section on Skype for Business for more detailed information on learning the basics of Skype, setting up a Skype Meeting, and a step-by-step guide on how to join a meeting using the web app, which could be particularly useful to send to attendees who may be new to Skype.
