Amgen Scholars Program

The Amgen Scholars Program provides hundreds of undergraduate students with the opportunity to engage in a hands-on summer research experience at 10 of the world's leading universities. Students will take part in important university science research projects, gain hands-on lab experience and contribute to the advancement of science; receive guidance from faculty mentors; and attend scientific seminars and workshops. Though it is expected that the majority of Amgen Scholars will be science or engineering majors, students in any major may apply.

Elie Wiesel Foundation Prize in Ethics Contest

The Elie Wiesel Foundation Prize in Ethics Contest challenges college students to analyze the urgent ethical issues confronting them in today’s complex world. Students are encouraged to write thought-provoking personal essays that raise questions about a moral dilemma of their choice.

Mickey Leland Energy Fellowship

The Mickey Leland Energy Fellowship (MLEF) Program provides college students with an opportunity to gain and develop research skills with the Department of Energy’s Office of Fossil Energy for 10 weeks over the summer. This program is designed to increase awareness of DOE research opportunities to students pursuing STEM degrees (short for science, technology, engineering and math). The goal of the program is to improve opportunities for under-represented students in these fields, however all eligible candidates are encouraged to apply.

Barry M. Goldwater Scholarship

Fact Sheet

The Barry M. Goldwater Scholarship is designed for students pursuing research careers in mathematics, the natural sciences, and engineering. The scholarship covers eligible expenses for tuition, fees, books, and room and board to a maximum of $7,500 per academic year. Applicants must have a demonstrated interest in a research career in mathematics, the natural sciences or engineering and be in the upper fourth of their class.

Udall Undergraduate Scholarship

The Morris K. Udall and Stewart L. Udall Foundation awards 60 scholarships of up to $5,000 and 50 honorable mentions to students committed
