Office of Residence Life header

Dear Resident Students and Families,

We are excited to share that your housing assignment and roommate (if applicable) can now be viewed by logging into MyHousing in the myHill student portal. In addition, we write to provide you with some important information regarding the phased move-in process.

Move-in will take place by appointment only between Wednesday, August 5th and Sunday, August 23rd. Students are encouraged to drop off their belongings as early as possible to avoid typical move-in crowding. Students dropping off their belongings prior to the official move-in dates will then be expected to return home until August 20th for first-year students or August 22nd/23rd for returning students.

Scheduling your appointment

Students must have a scheduled appointment to drop off their belongings and move into their residence hall room. Each residential area has developed a detailed move-in schedule to facilitate a streamlined process and best ensure physical distancing. To schedule an appointment, please visit the Fall 2020 Move-In Information page and note that appointments must be scheduled by August 5th. If you are unable to make any of the available timeslots, please contact the Office of Residence Life at (508) 565-1290 or via email.

Students who live a greater distance from campus

Students who live more than six hours from campus are encouraged to select a move-in day August 18th or later so that they will be permitted to remain on campus prior to the start of classes. These students are asked to select their move-in day/time no later than August 17th and can do so through the Fall 2020 Move-In Information page

Students who live outside of New England, New York, and New Jersey should follow the move-in procedures previously communicated by the Office of Student Affairs.

Confirmation and arrival

Please know that you will receive a follow-up email confirming your move-in day and time. In addition to your residence hall, room number, and appointment time, the email will include detailed move-in procedures that must be followed. Upon arrival to campus, please follow the signs to the Duffy Academic Center parking lot to pick up your key.

Additional move-in health and safety guidelines

Students may bring up to two individuals to help move into the halls. Masks and gloves must be worn on campus and in the residence hall at all times during move-in. Please know that individuals who are ill, quarantining, or sharing a living space with someone who meet these criteria may not participate in the move-in process.

It is expected that individuals be as efficient as possible and adhere to their scheduled move-in timeframe. As you spend time on campus, please be reminded that we are relying on all community members to practice responsible physical distancing at all times.

Don't forget your Hill Card

Be sure to bring your Hill Card to ensure you have access to your residence hall. For first-year students, Hill Cards will be provided with your room key.

Moving materials and tools

Students are encouraged to bring hand trucks or other moving materials that will make your move-in seamless, as moving carts will not be provided.

If you have any questions, please contact us at (508) 565-1290 or via email. Otherwise, safe travels and we look forward to welcoming you to campus soon!

Sincerely,

Kristen Pierce
