Office of the President Header

I hope this note finds you well as you navigate this uncertain time.

I write to you today regarding Commencement weekend. Given the current situation, I do not believe holding Commencement in May is prudent. As I mentioned previously, I am committed to holding this special day to celebrate together all of our graduating seniors’ achievements over the past four years.

In light of this, we are planning to hold Commencement on Sunday, August 9th. I truly hope that this new date gives us time to ensure we can come together as a community. Seniors will be invited to return to campus on Friday, August 7th for Commencement activities held throughout the weekend. The Office of Academic Affairs will be in touch soon with further details of how this celebratory weekend will unfold for our faculty and staff.

Seeing our seniors, their families, and all of you is something I truly look forward to later this summer. Before long, the tradition of the Class of 2020 processing down Donahue hill and across the Commencement stage will become a reality.

Take Care,
