On behalf of the 69 classes who have graduated before you, it is my distinct honor to offer you, the graduates of the Class of 2021, congratulations, and a warm welcome to our Alumni Association. We are a network of over 28,000 graduates who will open doors for you in the future.

I guarantee that when you meet fellow graduates in the future; whether it be at a job interview, a parent/teacher conference, a reunion, or, I hope, at one of the numerous alumni events that Stonehill hosts, you will be greeted with a bright and excited “You went to Stonehill too?” and, for a second, you will be right back here on campus.

Many of these alums will tell you that their life’s journey differed from what they expected when they graduated. I encourage you to embrace the changes that will come your way because they will open doors of possibility to you. Of course, your class already has practice in facing challenges, as the final 15 months of your Stonehill education has been nothing but challenges!

33 years ago, I was where you are today, hopeful for the future and more than a little nervous. My personal journey differed from what I had mapped out for myself but, as a CPA and founding partner in my own firm, it has been a great journey. Serving as the President of the Alumni Council and having the great pleasure of addressing you all here today is icing on the cake.

Stonehill has always held a special place in my heart. Each time I come to campus, especially this morning, I get that feeling of coming home. I hope that in the future the same is true for all of you.

Since I am the one thing standing between you and that bright future, please let me on behalf of all the Stonehill alumni who have graduated before you, wish you success. When you arrived at Stonehill, you became part of Stonehill’s family as students…today you join the Stonehill family as alumni—forever. Congratulations!
