Sons of Serendip Return for Fall Concert

November 20, 2018

On their recent campus visit, the Sons of Serendip, featuring lead singer Micah Christian ’06, became the first musical group to perform in the May building’s Kate Phalon McCarthy Auditorium. During the inaugural concert, Christian paid tribute to Kate, who died in an accident before she could attend Stonehill, and recognized the extended McCarthy family, which had 30 members in attendance, including her uncle, trustee Brian Doherty ’94.

Stonehill’s student co-ed a cappella group Surround Sound received a standing ovation from the audience for their powerful four-song opening act.  Following Surround Sound, the Sons of Serendip delivered a spectacular two-hour performance with a strong Thanksgiving theme, even audience shout outs about why they are grateful this holiday, and songs that touched people’s hearts, including Somewhere Only We Know, Don’t Worry Child, a hauntingly beautiful Halleluiah, Signed, Sealed, Delivered with great audience participation, and encore of Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas.
