The Business Administration Department at Stonehill has gained renewal of its accreditation from the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB), which is the longest-serving global accrediting body for business schools and the largest business education network connecting students, educators, and businesses worldwide.
When Stonehill first gained AACSB accreditation in 2012, it joined an elite group of higher education institutions, as less than five percent of the world’s business schools have an AACCB accreditation. For over a century, AACSB has been synonymous with the highest standards in business education with 799 institutions in 53 countries and territories accredited by the organization.
The accreditation process is a comprehensive review of a school’s mission, faculty qualifications, and curricula, and includes self-evaluations, peer-reviews, committee reviews etc. Accreditation ensures that students are learning material most relevant to their field of study, preparing them to be effective leaders upon graduation.
“I want to thank our friends at AACSB International for this recognition and also extend my deep appreciation to my colleagues in the Leo J. Meehan School of Business who worked so diligently and collaboratively to achieve such a distinction,” said Debra Salvucci, dean of the Leo J. Meehan School of Business. “As a team, we are committed to AACSB’s rigorous standards for continuous peer review and constant improvement to ensure the excellence of our business program.
“With the upcoming construction of the Meehan School of Business building, we will soon have a dedicated home with cutting edge technology, adaptive modern classrooms, and plenty of spaces for collaboration between faculty and students,” continued Salvucci. “The College’s substantial investments in our business program are critical in our efforts to build on our successes and ensure our students are positioned to thrive in a rapidly changing economy. We are beyond pleased that the AACSB board recognized our efforts through this reaccreditation.”
