Having spent the fall studying at the Beijing Center for Chinese Studies, Evan Wolstencroft, a member of the Class of 2016, has been awarded a Critical Language Scholarship (CLS). The award will allow him to spend eight weeks this summer in Taiwan.
Issued through the U.S. Department of State, the CLS program works to broaden the base of Americans studying and mastering critical languages and to strengthen relationships between Americans and people of other countries. The fully funded scholarship covers travel, room & board, instruction costs and various fees.
A Political Science & International Studies & Interdisciplinary Studies major, Wolstencroft is looking forward to participating in the competitive Chinese program. His post-graduation goal is to seek career opportunities at the foreign policy and global levels.
