CHRISTMAS CELEBRATIONS: This year, our campus celebrated Christmas in so many ways and we're proud to highlight a number of those events, including the Alumni gift wrapping party, Century Club gala, children’s Christmas concert and Santa’s visit, Lessons & Carols, and Lighting of the Tree. To see our seasonal Snapshot, visit here.
COLLABORATIVE LEARNING: One reason why the Thomas and Donna May School of Arts and Sciences building has had such a successful first semester is its suite of collaborative technologies, which have been widely used to support traditional learning. A recent video produced by the trade site Commercial Integrator takes a close look at how this blending works. To watch, visit here.
SHAKESPEAREAN COLLECTIVE: For her Shakespeare class this year, Professor Helga Duncan brought together students from Stonehill and Brockton High School to explore the Bard’s relevance to life and education today. In partnership, both sets of students got under the skin of characters in Macbeth, acting, directing, and grappling with the issues of ambition, greed, arrogance, and violence. Check it out here!
COMPETITIVE ADVANTAGE: With the right advisor, internship opportunities that might appear out of reach can suddenly rest in the palm of a student’s hand. At the College, our Career Development Center has an exceptional record of helping students secure placements in competitive internship programs, ones that can define the trajectory of a career. See some examples here.
HAWAIIAN GREETINGS: Even though they are 5000 miles away in the middle of the Pacific Ocean, Patricia (Norton) Sullivan '60, MaryAnne (Coelho) Long '65, Linda (Bailey) Tolmie '67, who recently got together at the Honolulu Musuem of Art, sent seasonal greetings, Mele Kalikimaka and Hau`oli Makahiki Hou (Merry Christmas and Happy New Year) to fellow alums across the country. There are Stonehill alumni living in all 50 states today.
