Monday Morning Update

November 5, 2018

THE SPIRIT OF HOLY CROSS: In 1837, Blessed Basil Moreau, C.S.C. founded the Congregation of Holy Cross in Le Mans, France, a place of great spiritual significance to him. In 2003, photographer Steven Scardina visited Le Mans and captured in dramatic black and white images the places, churches, and chapels that Moreau loved. Take a look, here.

GREATEST GIFT: “Stonehill has answered questions that I never thought to ask and made me ask questions that seem to have no answer.  I suppose that this is the greatest gift of an esteemed education: to encourage students to ask themselves questions that they can only answer by seeking out new opportunities to find the answers on their own.” – Celia Dolan ’19

TRICK OR TREAT: Students across campus welcomed children from the Stonehill community into the residence halls for our annual Trick or Treat Halloween Celebration. Check out our Snapshot, here.

FRIENDSHIP AND FAITH: Campus Minister Fr. Matt Fase, C.S.C. and his longtime friend, recording artist Amanda Vernon, are the authors of When God Wrecks Your Romance. Highlighting their teenage friendship, Fr. Matt's choice to join the priesthood, and Amanda's marriage to her husband David, the book tells an unconventional tale of friendship and faith. Learn more about their story, here.

SIX OF THE BEST: As educators, these six alums are making a difference at North Grafton Elementary, a small school in east central Massachusetts of just under 300 students where Julie Flynn ’00, third from left, serves as Principal. Meet this team of Stonehill alumnae educators, here.
