Monday Morning Update

June 25, 2018

TANKING TANKS: Ahead of last week's NBA draft, the New York Times highlighted Economics Professor Akira Motomura's research debunking the commonly-held belief that the best way to build a champion is to tear a decrepit team to the ground and reseed it with young and cheap talent from the draft. BUILDING CREDIT: Getting that first job and establishing a history of paying bills on time makes all the difference in building a respectable credit score, said Finance Professor Michael Mullen in a recent WalletHub interview. Mullin advises students and young alums on how to start their financial journey on the right foot, including how to choose the right first credit card. To read his advice, visit here.

ACTIVISM OR SLACKTIVISM?: Can social media drive substantial change or is it an easy option for supporting causes without investing effort in them?
