Biography

Dr. Geoffrey P. Lantos has served at Stonehill since 1986 and is a Professor of Business Administration and former Marketing Program Director. His current undergraduate teaching areas include consumer behavior, advertising management, new products management, and marketing principles. He previously also taught undergraduate marketing research and graduate-level marketing strategy, promotion management, marketing principles, and business ethics. Prior to Stonehill, Dr. Lantos taught at Bentley University and Michigan University.

Professor Lantos’ areas of research include business and marketing ethics, corporate social responsibility, use of music in advertising, marketing education, and advertising and society. His textbook Consumer Behavior in Action: Real-Life Managerial Applications, was published in 2010 by M.E. Sharpe, Inc. Lantos has published articles in Psychology and Marketing, Journal of Consumer Marketing, Journal of the Academy of Marketing Science, Journal of Public Policy and Marketing, Marketing Education Review, and Journal of Product and Brand Management, among others. Cases studies by Lantos have appeared in several marketing and business ethics textbooks. His articles on teaching pedagogy have been published in various books and professional and instructional manuals. 

Dr. Lantos has presented refereed papers at international, national, and regional conferences such as the American Marketing Association Summer Educators, Academy of Marketing Science, Decision Sciences Institute, and Christian Business Faculty Association, among others. He has published a number of book reviews in various publications such as Journal of Marketing, Journal of Advertising, Journal of Consumer Affairs, Journal of Consumer Marketing, and Journal of Services Marketing

His professional service includes Books Review Editor for Journal of Consumer Marketing (21 years) and Journal of Product and Brand Management (9 years); author of Spotlight Reviews and abstracts writer at Journal of Product Innovation Management; editorial review board member for various journals such as Journal of Marketing Education, Journal of Consumer Marketing, Journal of Product and Brand Management, and Christian Business Academy Review; and ad hoc reviewer for several other journals. He has refereed papers and served as a discussant for various conferences such as American Marketing Association Summer Educators’ Conference (co-track chair, 2010 Marketing Education and Teaching Innovation track), American Marketing Association Winter Educators Conference, and the Product Development and Management Association.  Lantos has served as an invited speaker and panelist on business ethics and marketing education at various conferences, as a reviewer of many textbooks, and several times as outside dissertation reader.
