Social Entrepreneurship in China: Challenges and Opportunities

Since the concept of “Social Enterprise” was first introduced to China in 2004, the landscape of social entrepreneurship has undergone significant changes throughout the years and is now an emerging field involving millions of people. In this talk, we shall present the development of social entrepreneurship in China, and look at some of the challenges it faces, from policy level to operation level. We shall also highlight areas where opportunities may arise, for both Chinese and non-Chinese citizens. The presentation is geared towards a general audience, with basic knowledge of social entrepreneurship preferred. Lunch will be served; please RSVP to martininstitute@stonehill.edu.
